Snail trails, dead diodes and older modules

Saw an earlier post about 'snail trails' and what impact they have on a module. Just wanted to add, as someone who works in O&M, I've been seeing an uncomfortably large amount of modules produced between 2011-2014 (mainly Suniva & Samsung) that are failing with either bad diodes and/or these snail trails. It's also a difficult situation as both of these manufacturers are gone from the NA market and their warranties are essentially null & void, so the customer has to take the hit and purchase a new panel(s). The workmanship on these modules seems terrible compared to newer modules that we are using now. Has anyone else had bad experiences with Suniva or Samsung modules, and if so what did you do about it?
