Nissan Leaf Powerwall Inside Your House?
Is anyone running a DIY Nissan Leaf powerwall inside your actual house? I would like to replace my lead acid battery backup with a Nissan Leaf 48v equiv pack like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Solar-RV-Powerwall-Nissan-48-volt-lot-7-Battery-G1-Lithium-Ion-3-5-kWh-66-amh/143103972114
but am not sure about putting it in my basement. I have no where else I can put it, the garage gets way too cold. I have seen lithium fires though and even though I would do a high end BMS like batrium, only charge to 4.1v and only charge when I am there to monitor it, I can only imagine how big the fire would be of a 3.5kw lithium fire. I have had small drone size packs explode in the past and the fire is insane.
A lot of the searching I do is people saying never put these diy powerwalls inside your house or attached garage but it seems at least some people do it on YT....
What i am wondering also is if anyone has found a metal container that could completely contain the fire and use that inside their house? Obviously smoke and fumes would still be an issue but as long as the flames are contained at least it wont burn down the house (and give insurance a good reason not to pay out on top of it).
Currently i run AGM batteries, perhaps it makes sense to stick with AGM since its for emergency backup power and not going to be cycled often.......
thanks.
