Home Inspector had Wiring Concerns
I'm considering a home with a solar system that is about 1.5 years old. Though the home inspector was not qualified to inspect the solar system, he did notate some concerns he saw while on the roof looking at the panels. Specifically, the installers used plastic zip-ties for wire management and some of the wires make contact with the roof.
He wasn't really aware of how big of a deal this is, but noted it as a safety issue since he said it's never a good idea for a wire like this to make contact with the roof. His concern is over the years the wire insulation can disappear causing a fire hazard. Doing some reading this type of wiring can attract critters though this home is not near any trees so I don't expect squirrels on the roof.
Just curious what your thoughts were? Should I see about having the sellers address this? Is it not really that big of a deal and pretty normal?
