24v panels to charge 12v batteries in RV?

Most of the solar setups I see for RVs use 12v panels; I never see 24v panels. I plan to use a Victron MPPT 100/30 charge controller and would like to connect a single 300w panel. Assuming i have the space for it on the RV roof, is there any con to this as opposed to using a pair of 12v panels to achieve the same wattage? I would be charging a pair of 220ah 6v batteries wired in series if that matters.
