Wanting to add 3 panels, electrical question.

I'm wanting to add 3 Solarworld 300W panels to my existing rig, a pdf of it is here: https://my.pcloud.com/publink/show?code=XZ4Qsg7ZrC6RCuWamU5g49f6tdgBFQznidSk . Currently, the wires on my existing 2 banks of 6 renogy series wired 20v panels are simply crimped together into the wires going to the charge controller. The Solarworld panels are 40v panels, so, in my mind, it would be okay to series these 3 together and just crimp them in. My panel dealer suggested a combiner box, which I think is a great idea, but my question is more electrical then whether my setup could use the Box.
