Solar tester?

Is there a device that can measure the amount of solar energy potential in a certain area at a certain angle? Like a small solar panel that I can face towards the sky at different angles to figure out which direction and angle would be the best to place solar panels? The reason I’m wondering is because my roof faces west. I understand South is the most efficient, but I’m trying to figure out HOW MUCH more efficient. And if it would be worth it to tilt the panels South in a low pitch roof, or just add another panel or 2.

Aurora Inverter giving E050 error randomly The message requires a reset to get the inverter working again, but it's random - may happen a couple times a day, may skip a day or two. I have checked every connection, and even inside the inverter where the DC gets connected (2 arrays running). I tried turning off each array independently, but it continued for both lines at the same frequency. The only possible point of spark generation would be the connector box on the roof, which has wirenuts from the arrays themselves to the cable to the inverter. They are tight, but I went ahead and wrapped them with silicon tape (didn't help). Could the inverter itself have a problem?
