Starting a small-scale solar farm for tax credits or even income?
Hi all,
My folks have been retired for a bit up on a farm here in GA. They have about 300 acres, with 4 approximately 400 foot long chicken coops (roughtly 25 feet wide?) - the big commercial ones.
My dad currently is producing Hay for the property and stores it in the chicken houses.
Chicken houses are structurally sound and were in good working order prior to him purchasing the farm. Previous owner sold all farming equipment.
I guess my question is - would it be feasible to think that the roofs of the chicken houses could be lined with solar panels and this be utilized as a tax credit or income source? Houses are in direct sunlight for majority, if not entire day.
I am in GA and I know there are fewer solar incentives here, but just thinking out loud....
I'm very new to solar, but we're just trying to think of ways to make my folk's land make money for itself.
Any direction, thoughts, etc would be greatly appreciated.
