Panel setup: 3x REC 290 Watt Solar Panel 1x MC4 Y Branch Connector Solar Panel Parallel Connection 1M3F+3M1F 1x MC4 Solar Panel Extension Cable Adaptor Connector 1x 1000W Grid Tie Inverter Stackable MPPT Pure Sine Wave

In this setup, I'm measuring about 450 watts of output from the inverter, which is hooked up to 3 solar panels. The panels are rated at 290 watts each, which amounts to 870 watts output. However, it is said that these panels have a 16% efficiency rating. I'm a bit confused about how the efficiency rating means to my setup. Am I supposed to be getting 870 watts output or 139.2 watts (16% of 870)? Am I getting something wrong? Is there a problem with the inverter or panels?

Solar Supports

Solar Supports I'm looking at installing a solar system at our off grid cabin this spring and I'm trying to come up with a good way to get the panels up high enough to catch decent sunlight. The roof of the cabin is not an option as there are some trees blocking it but I do have a shed that I figure I'd be able to brace the supports to, I can't use the shed roof either as it's facing the wrong direction. A couple neighbors have systems which they've put on poles that go up sort of like a street lamp or flagpole style support which is an option but I thought maybe either a frame like a scaffold kind of thing secured to the back of the shed might be a more sturdy option. What have you guys used to elevate your panels on a standalone frame, or have you seen any companies that sell good kits? I'm in BC in Canada as well. PG&E Aggregate Net Metering Application Help Earlier this year I completed a ground mount at a ranch in Paso Robles, CA. This ranch has two meters, requiring me to complete the PG&E’s Aggregate Net Metering Agreement. 8 months later my application has been rejected multiple times.
