Benefits of ground mount- cooler than a rooftop?
Hey y'all, I was reading about how the different seasons affect solar, and with the temperature effect on production in summer, I wondered if ground-mount panels benefit at all from staying cooler. The roof is an awfully hot place, but maybe the panels would get just as hot on a ground mount? After all, they'd be in the same sun. I just would think that having more air circulation instead of being inches away from the attic, which collects a lot of heat in the non-shaded-by-panels area, might help. Then again, you'd lose the benefits of shading your roof, which I hear can keep cooling costs lower somewhat.
What are folks experiences with ground mount pros and cons? Removing snow and cleaning, if you want to, would be easier, but you lose some yard area. Is it just a better option all around if you have the space?
