Backup Power Solution

Backup Power Solution

Hey all. I'm moving into a new house and I'd like to install solar panels -- pretty much as a source of backup power. I live in CA and am nervous about earthquakes.

To be most cost effective I was thinking of leasing the panels from Solar City or a place like that, and then buying a Tesla Powerwall or maybe some other battery solution.

Am I missing anything obvious here? Total newbie and would appreciate any tips or advice. Thanks!
