How much energy is net metered by an average home?

How much energy is net metered by an average home?

I’m trying to find a general average for how much a home is sending back to the grid via net metering.

Basically my question is, if I wanted to power my home 100% on solar, in the absence of net metering how much excess energy would I produce annually? 20% of system size? 40%?

I know this is slightly different than the net metering question, but I figured there is some real data on net metering and would give some guidepost, though I can’t seem to find it
